In Malayalam “ Kovalam” means a grove of coconut trees. It  is famous for its palm fringed crescent beaches. Its closeness to the nearest airport and options of budget to luxury resort  has made Kovalam one of most celebrated beach destination  in India. 17 kms of coastline of Kovalam is divided into mainly three beaches: Lighthouse Beach , Hawah Beach and  Samudra Beach.  These three beaches are separated by rock formation. Out of these beaches Lighthouse beach attracts a lot  of tourists. Along the beach one can find tattoo and  spa parlours , beach wears shops and kiosks selling  tender coconut water while Samudra beach in the north is most sought after by  laid back  travelers. At Hawa beach one can come across to fisherman activities.

Best Time To Avail This Package

Between October to March weather remains cool in morning and evening time while afternoon remains pleasant. Cool breeze and pleasant temperature adds more enjoyment to sightseeing and excursion trips.

During April and May months temperature increases in air and afternoon time are not recommended for local sightseeing. During Monsoon time from June to September humidity level increases along with temperature so one can spend only morning and afternoon time outdoors.

    Winter  (October – February) – Best Time:

    In these months weather remains cool in morning and evening time while afternoon remains pleasant. These are the best months to visit Beach.

    Monsoon  (June – September) – Good Time:

    In this period  coastal belt of Kerala receives abundance of rainfall so the lush green beauty of nature emerges. However sometimes your local sightseeing and excursions plans may hamper due to incessant  rainfall.

    Summer  (March – May) – Not So Good Time:

    In these months high temperatures (maximum of 35-37 degrees ) couples with high humidity levels so  long sightseeing trips are not recommended.

    BY AIR:

    Trivandrum International Airport  is the  closest Airport to Kovalam(14 Kms).  This airport  is well connected to all major metro  cities of India: Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad,  Kolkata and Mumbai.

    BY RAIL:

    Thiruvananthapuram Railway Station is the closest railhead, which is just  13 Kms away from Kovalam. It is well connected with other major cities of India:New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, etc

    BY ROAD:

    Kovalam is well connected by road to other metro cities of India. There is good frequency of buses till Thiruvananthapuram from there  cab can be booked to reach to your resort.
