The vantage point and window to snow crested Trishul, Nanda Devi, Nandakot and Panchchuli peaks, Kausani is known as Switzerland of Uttarakhand. Located at an altitude of 6300 feet above sea level, Kausani is famous for its 300 kms wide, scenic and panoramic views of Himalayan peaks. The area is full of deep and dense pine forest, tea gardens. Kausani is one of the most picturesque and epic destinations to witness the glorious sunset and sunrise views. Another major attraction of the hill resort of Kausani is the Anashakti Ashram. The Anashakti Ashram has the proud privilege of being associated with Mahatma Gandhi, who is considered to be one of the greatest personalities of the 20th century. Kausani’s tea estate, spread over an area of 208 hectare, produces well flavored tea leaves of Griha tea which is exported to countries like Australia, America, Germany and Korea. ONe can enjoy scenic and small treks to various waterfalls, temples and hill tops.

Best Time to visit Kausani:

As Kausani experiences snowfall during the winter months of December and January, it is advisable to avoid making a trip to the hill resort. In monsoons, the roads to Kausani may not be suitable for travel because of heavy rainfalls. The months of February to June and September to November are considered the best time to visit the hill resort of Kausani.

BY ROAD:

Kausani is well connected and accessible by road from all major cities. Nearest popular cities are

Nainital: 115 kms

Moradabad: 235 kms

Haldwani: 140 kms

Delhi: 420 kms

BY TRAIN:

Nearest railway station is Kathgodam which is around 135 kms. To reach Kausani from Kathgodam, route is via Bhowali and Almora Another railway station is Ram Nagar, which is around 155 kms from Kausani. From Ram Nagar one can reach via Corbett and Ranikhet.

BY AIR:

Delhi airport is around 420 kms from Kausani with frequent flights from all over the world.

Pant Nagar airport is 170 kms, but flights at this airport are limited.

Dehradun airport is around 320 kms
