Kodagu(Formerly known as Coorg ) is a  district, located in the state of Karnataka.  Its undulating terrain ranges from 900 meters to 1100 meters in altitude and is sprawling in an area of 4000 square kilometers. Being a part of Western Ghats  this land is full of  gushing waterfalls, rivulet, thick forest. Kodagu highlands are full of  natural beauty coupled with  salubrious temperature is the reason why it is called “Scotland of India”.

Best Time to visit Kodagu:

Winter (September– March) – Best Time:

Kodagu is in Western Ghat and in this altitude range from September to March weather remains cold while  afternoon becomes  pleasant.

Summer (March – May) – Good Time:

In these months on  clear sunny days morning and evening remain pleasant while afternoon becomes slightly warmer here if skies  turn cloudy it may bring the mercury level  little low

Monsoon (June – August) – Not so Good Time:

In this period Kodagu(Formerly Coorg)  receives abundance of rainfall so the lush green beauty of nature emerges. However sometimes your local sightseeing and excursions plans may hamper due to Intermittent  rainfall.

BY AIR:

Mangalore Airport is the  closest Airport to Kodagu (160 Kms).  This airport  is well connected to all major metro  cities of India: Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad,  Kolkata and Mumbai.

BY RAIL:

Mysore(Officially Mysuru) is the closest railhead(95 kms) , which is well connected with other major cities of India:New Delhi, Bangalore,  Chennai, Mumbai, etc

BY ROAD:

Coorg is well connected by road to other metro cities of India. There is good frequency of buses till Bengaluru  from there  cab can be booked to reach to your resort at Munnar
