The journey will take you to some of the best National parks in India with different terrains and biodiversity to provide maximum opportunities to photograph Indian wildlife in varied habitats. The National parks we cover in this journey, Corbett National park, Ranthambore National park, Bandhavgarh National park and Kanha National park have unique landscapes and beauty. These are amongst the most popular wildlife destinations in the country. Like Corbett can boost about asiatic elephants and dense forests, Ranthambore is known for its dry forests and good tiger sightings. Bandhavgarh boosts about sal forests and tiger sightings, Kanha is known for its grasslands and swamp deers. Another wildlife reserve we cover in this journey is Jhalna reserve forest, a place to spot leopards in the wild as otherwise in tiger reserves, leopards may not be very frequently spotted. Apart from these wildlife destinations, we also visit Golden traiangle of India, Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Agra also known as the city of Taj Mahal is popular to have one of the wonders of the world, Taj Mahal the monument which symbolises love. Jaipur the pink city represents culture, history and legacy of Rajasthan. Overall this tour perfectly suits avid wildlife photogrpahers visiting India for the first time.

A small briefing about the tour and what you are going to experience in days to come is always good. New Delhi is a city of contrasts with Old Delhi and New Delhi representing thwo different worlds of Heritage and Development. We may utilize rest of the day to catch glimpse of monuments in Delhi city. A visit to Old Delhi can be a unique experience to see of how things function seamlessly without proper alignment of systems. A 6 hours and 260 Kms drive takes us to Corbett National park, the magical place that could turn a famous hunter into conservationist. Corbett national park, named after famous hunter and conservationist Jim Corbett is one of the most unique and beautiful ladscapes to visit in the country. Corbett National Park is often referred by photographers as a park where your camera never stops. Full of life, these woods and river beds are home to tigers, elephants, leopards, bears, four species of deers including Hog deer, which is found only in grassland habitats, many species of reptiles including endangered gharials and over 500 species of birds including resident and migratory species. Corbett national park also gets its popularity from the books on Man eating tigers and leopards written by Jim Corbett. Corbett national park is also known to have one of the highest density of tigers in the wild. This park also is one the the very few places which provides the opportunity of the staying inside the forest rest houses built in core zones of national park. The experience of staying inside the forest presents unique opportunity to feel the soul of forests. During our stay at Corbett national park, for the first night we stay in a luxury resort on the periphery of national park and the other two nights we stay at Dhikala forest rest house inside core zone of corbett national park. The accommodation inside Dhikala zone might be basic but the location and opportunites to spot wildlife are extra ordinary. All mornings and evenings during our stay would be utilised for four wheel drives inside the national park. Meals during stay at Dhikala forest rest house would be vegetarian. During our stay at Corbett national park, we shall also visit gujjar dera. Gujjars are the community that stays on the periphery of national park and depends on cattles for their livelyhood. It would be a great opportunity to understand their circle of life.
A 7 hours and 305 Kms Journey would Take us to Agra, The City of Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world is a ivory – white marble mausoleum on the banks of river yamuna. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1632 to house the tomb of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal also houses tomb of the emperor as well. Taj Mahal was constructed using best of the available materials from all over India and Asia. It is believed over 1,000 elephants were used to transport building materials and 22,000 labourers, painters, embroidery artists and stonecutters to shape the Taj Mahal. The plinth and tomb took roughly 12 years to complete and the remaining parts like minarets, mosque and gateway took an additional 10 years. The imperial court of muusoleum documenting Shah Jahan’s grief after the death of her beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal illustrates the love story held as the inspiration for the Taj Mahal. In the evening we enjoy light and sound show in Agra. Overnight stay at prime location in Agra Close to Taj. Next day we visit the glorious Taj Mahal.
A 6 hours and 260 Kms drive will take you to Ranthamore National Park, The land of fort tigers Ranthambore National Park, one of the most popular and best destinations to spot tigers in the wild used to be hunting ground for royal families of Sawai Madhopur. The forest of Ranthambore is dry & deciduous with visibility advantage and hence records good toger sightings. Due to the typr of forests, tigers of Ranthambore have also become used to the presence of tourists most of the times. There are many documentaries filmed in Ranthambore National park which makes it the most popular national park in the country. These documentaries not just made the park popular but also some of the tigers. One of the most famous tigers from Ranthambore National Park was Machhli (Hindi word for Fish), who has the record of surviving in the wild for maximum number of years, ie 20 years in wherein the tigers are believed to have life cycle of 10 to 14 years in the wild. We stay in Ranthambore National park for 3 nights and during our stay in Ranthambore, we shall spend most mornings and evenings exploring premium safari zones of the park on a four wheel drive safari. We shall also visit Ranthambore school of Arts during our stay. The Ranthambore School of Art at Sawai Madhopur was established with an aim to create awareness about the tiger conservation and the students in the school belong to the neighbouring villages. Our Stay at Ranthambore National park would be in a Luxury resort on the periphery of the park.
A 3 hours and 180 Kms drive will take us to Jaipur, the gateway to Rajsthan Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan state of India is also know as the pink city. The story behind pink city goes way back in 1876, when the prince of whales visited India. Since color pink symbolises hospitality, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur painted whole city pink. Jaipur city is a perfect blend on ancient history with all the luxuries of morden day world. The city has many monuments highlighting the rich history of the place. Adjoining jaipur is the reserve forest of Jhalna, which can come up as one the best best places to spot leopard in the wild. Although are of this reserve forest is way smaller than other national parks we visit on this tour, but the leopard population density is pretty high. With no presence of tigers in the area, leopard becomes the apex predator in the forest and roams fearlessely in the forest and hence spotted frequently. We stay at Jaipur for 2 Nights in a luxury hotel with heritage look. We shall visit Amer fort, hawa mahal, jal mahal, jantar mantar during our stay. We shall also do 2 game drives in Jhalna reserve forest to spot the spotted beauty of Indian forests. One of the dinners we will have at Chowki Dhani, the introduction to the culture of rajasthan.
After a thrilling safari experience in Northern part of India we proceed towards cebtral India to explore more terrains. A 1 hours 40 minutes flight will take us to Jabalpur Airport. Another 200 Kms and 5 hours drive will take us to Bandhavgarh National Park. Bandhavgarh national park is the most famous out of all the parks we visit during this trip, and the main reason behind the popularity of the park is number of documentaries that have been filmed in the park. Two of the world’s famous tigers Charger (A ferocious and dominant tiger) and Sita (Which contributed a mojor part in increase of tiger population) were also filmed in this park. Bandhavgarh national park provides great opportunity to spot the majestic striped cat in its habitat. While we roam on a four wheel drive in the park, a team of mahouts on their elephants patrol the park. Gaurs or Indian Bisons were relocted to Bandhavgarh national park from kanha National park. During our three night’s stay st bandhavgarh national park, we shall spend most mornings and evenings in four wheel safari drives in the core zones of Bandhavgarh National park. The country side experience including the architecture of homes, life style of residents and their livelyhood is uniqe and charming. People here may be hesitant to talk and are affactionate. At Bandhavgarh National park, we shall stay at one of the luxury wildlife lodges on the periphery of the park close to the main enterance gate.
A 280 Kms and 6 hours drive will take us to kanhan National Park Those who know much about wildlife in India, would regard Kanha national park as one the most beautiful national parks in India. Long stretches of Grasslands, long standing sal forests and bamboo forests, gashing streams makes the landscapes of kanha breathtaking. Kanha national park Including buffer area spreads at 1927 Square Kms. Apart from tiger, another animal which gets major attention of tourists is hard ground swamp Deer or barasingha, Which is the found only in this region of the world. Other than these two some commonly seen fauna are leopard, Gaur or Indian Bison (World’s largest cattle species), Leopard, Bear, Black face monkey, Rhesus Monkey and many species of birds and reptiles. Romance for Kanha national park will only increase as you visit the park. We stay at kanha national park for 3 nights and during our stay we explore different zones of Kanha national park on a four wheel drive safari. Also we shall visit local village where some of the tribes still live to understand more about their life. At Kanha national park, we stay at one of the luxury lodges on the periphery of the park close to the safari enterance gates.
Here our wild encpounters of Indian wildlife would end and we proceed to jabalpur. A 165 Kms and 4 hours drive takes us to jabalpur airport from where we board flight to New Delhi. Flight time between Jabalpur and New Delhi is 1 hour 40 minutes. Overnight we stay in a luxury hotel in the heart of the City and next day we board the flight back home with sweet yet wild memories of India. If time allows we may visit another monument in New Delhi.
